Kishtwar is the 3rd largest district of Jammu and Kashmir state. There are two constituencies in Kishtwar district one is Kishtwar and other is Inderwal. The total numbers of voters in these constituencies are1,40,576 voters in Assembly Elections 2002 in which 73,723 voters from Kishtwar segment and 66,853 voters from Inderwal segment. Literacy rate of Kishtwar district is approx. 44.98%. The number of revenue villages in this district are 156. Total no. of Panchayatas in Kishtwar district is 134. there are 7 no. of educational blocks in Kishtwar namley Kishtwar, Drabshalla, Nagsani, Chatroo, Marwa, Warwan and Padder.
