Wali Mohmad Aseer Kishtwari
was born to Kh. Ghulam Qadir Batt Berwari at village Berwar on 2nd of August
1954 is a famous Historian, Author, Educationist, Writer & thinker. Wali
Mohmad passed the Middle and Higher Secondary Elective examinations with good
marks from Islamaia Faridia School, Kishtwar and M.L. Higher Secondary School
Kishtwar. He passed his B.A. examination from Govt. Degree College, Bhaderwah
in 1974. He did his MA in Urdu from University of Jammu and then he qualified
KAS in the year 1977. He worked as teacher in Islamia Faridia High School,
Kishtwar. On his professional performance and natural capability he was
appointed on the important post of Distt. Treasury Officer Doda. He also
functioned as Chief Accounts Officer, District Fund Office, Doda, from 1986 to
1985. After performing his duties nicely for about eleven years he was
transferred to State Sports Council. He was soon shifted to Additional Treasury
Talab Tillo, Jammu and then to Additional Treasury Old Sectt. Jammu. In April
1999 he was posted as Deputy Director Accounts and Treasuries Jammu. He had served
as Director General of Accounts.
During his educational
career Wali Mohmad Aseer took keen interest in participating in cultural programs,
discussions, writing competitions and other cultural activities of schools and
the College. By studying Urdu literature in depth, he developed interest in
poetry and literature. The company of local organizations, writers, poets and
artists sharpened his thinking and literary aptitude. Poetry was his hereditary
right. Slowly he was attracted to prose writing, research and literary
criticism.
The conducive literary atmosphere of Doda promoted him to compile the Kashmiri works of his illustrious father, which he published under the title Changi Reh (The flame of the lamp). Per chance Faridiya Bazm-e-Adab, Doda had been established on the insistence of Mohd. Ishaq Zargar. It has been christened with the venerable name of Hazrat Shah Farid-ud-Din Baghdadi. It was an important occasions of 1986. Mr. Aseer also regularly attended its various activities at district level. This organization started a series of holding poetic symposia and publications at local, state and national levels. Under this programmed memorable poetic symposia were held on National Integration at All India level, in far flung District Doda in 1986, 1987, 1988, and 1989, attended by eminent poets from the state and country. Along with other members of the Bazm, Mr. Aseer did not leave any stone unturned in making these poetic symposia a grand success. Despite uncongenial circumstances, the Door Darshan, Srinagar and Radio Kashmir Jammu and Srinagar, gave appropriate publicity to these poetic symposia.

Beside this he wrote so many articles, reviewed different type of books, wrote foreword in Kashmiri, Urdu and English languages.

Jenab Wali Muhammad Bhat “Asser
Kishtwar” received the Rashtriya Gaurav
Award at a function at New Delhi by India International Friendship Society,
for his meritorious services. The award was presented to him by Dr. Bishma
Naraian Singh, former Union Minister and Governor. He has received Gandhi Peace
Award, Rasa Javedani Literary Award, Vitasta Award, Urdu Award and Best Book
Award of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for the year 2015.

About Books:
1. TASVEER-i-ZILA DODA:
First published in 1996, this book consists of 622
pages. As is evident from its name, Tasveer-e-Zila Doda is the first
comprehensive political, socio-cultural & developmental history of the
erstwhile Doda district, giving a vivid geographical background as well. The
second edition was brought out in 1997.
2. ZILA DODA KI ADABI SHINAKHT:
This is my book containing 943 pages was published in 1998.
It is actually the first detailed literary history of the erstwhile Doda
district, in which the literary works of about 96 poets & writers of the
erstwhile Doda district have been discussed & highlighted.
3. FOCUS ON JAMMU & KASHMIR:
This Book was adjudged as the Best English Book of the
year 2007 by The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Four Editions
of this book have been published since 2002. It gives the latest, comprehensive
and documented political, social and cultural history of the J&K state
including areas under the occupation of Pakistan and China. The fourth &
the latest edition contains 1768 pages, which covers various events up to June
2011.
4. NISHAT KISHTWARI (Monograph):
This monograph written on request of the J&K
Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, was published by the said academy in the
year 2009 on 184 pages. Nishat Kishtwari was a renowned Urdu and Kashmiri poet
of J&K state having won the best book award in 1990 besides the other
honors.
5. TAREEKH–i-ISHAAT-i-ISLAM:
Published in 2010, this book gives a comprehensive history
of Islam throwing light on the world famous Sufi Saints/Islamic Scholars along
with the historical mosques all around the world. It contains 576 pages. As of
date two editions have been published.
6. FARSH-e-GUL:
This is a collection of my Kashmiri poetry and was
published in 2010, on 302 pages. The English translation of this poetry has
been done by Prof. Amar Nath Dhar that has also gained a good name & fame
in the international book market.
7. TAREEK-i-AWLIA-i-JAMMU-wa-KASHMIR:
This book covers more than 400 Awlias of the J&K
State including POK. It contains 840 pages with over 100 photographs of the
eminent Shrines located in the various nooks and corners of the J&K state.
This is the first comprehensive, complete and updated history on the subject
matter.
8. MONOGRAPH ON JANBAAZ KISHTWARI:
This was an important assignment of Sahitya Akademi,
New Delhi wherein the life, art and poetry of the late Ghulam Nabi Doolwal
Janbaaz Kishtwari, a legendary personality of the J&K State in to be
vividly discussed in the Kashmiri Language. It contains 120 pages and was
published by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi in 2014.
9. JAMME-SUBHIK KAESHIR KALAMKAR:
This book is written in Kashmiri Language and is
unique in its character. Life and literary works of twenty topmost Kashmiri
poets of Jammu Province have been discussed in detail. This book containing 528
pages was published in year 2014 by Arshia Publications, New Delhi.
10. MONOGRAPH ON NISHAT KISHTWARI:
This was another important assignment of Sahitya
Akademi, New Delhi wherein the life and literary works of the late Ghulam
Rasool Nishat Kishtwari, a prominent man of letters has been thoroughly
discussed. This book contains 140 pages and was published by Sahitya Akademi,
New Delhi in 2015.
11. YAAD-E-NADEEM:
Printed on art paper, this book contains photo album
of the late Mohd. Arif Nadeem S/o Aseer Kishtwari who passed away on 25.12.2014
at the age of 31 years. The prose and poetry works of various writers of the
J&K State in his memory have also been published in this book. This
colourful book was published in May 2016 on the eve of Nadeem’s 33rd
Birthday.
12. SAFR-E-HARMAIN:
This book is a travel log covering Hajj Pilgrimage of
Aseer Kishtwari in 2015. It is infact a brief history of Islam and Mecca Madina
Sharif. This book was published in 2016, sprawling over 328 pages.
13. JAMIS-TE-KASHIR MANZ KASHIR ZABAAN-O-ADAB (HISTORY AND CRITICISM):
This was project of Senior Fellowship sanctioned by
the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, New Delhi in 2014. After approval
of the project, this has been published in book form in 2017 containing 616
pages. This is a unique literary, historical and critical work taken up for the
first time on the subject matter.
14. ZIKR-O-FIQR:
This is a compilation of Urdu Book Reviews and is
presently under publishing process. It contains thirty-one selected Urdu essays
of literary and critical nature. The volume of the book is expected to about
three hundred pages.

Sprawling over 230 pages and published by the Faridia
Bazam-i-Adab Doda in 1998, this book contains some important essays on the
erstwhile Doda district besides poetry recited by the Indian poets during two
composte All India Mushairas held at Doda in 1986- 87.
2. ZILA DODA KI ADABI WA SAKATFI TAREEKH:
Published in the year 1993, it carries write up on the
Chenab valley’s history, culture and literature. This book contains 495 pages.
3. PA-SE-UFAQ:
Published by the Challant Cultural Forum Kishtwar on
the eve of the first death anniversary of the late Ghulam Nabi Doolwal Janbaz
Kishtwari in 1991. This book contains 310 pages and carries very valuable
articles written on the late poets of Doda region including Rasa Javedani, Wafa
Bhaderwahi, Ishrat Kashmiri, Kamgar Kishtwari, Talib Bhalessvi & Janbaz
Kishtwari by the veteran Urdu prose writers.
4. CHANG-I-REAH:
First compilation of the Kashmiri poetry of Kh. Ghulam
Qadir Berwari Kishtwari (my reverend father), came out in 1989 on 64 pages.
5. PATHWAN-SADA:
This is the second collection of Kashmiri poetry of
Kh. Ghulam Qader Berwari, compiled on 147 pages & published in 2007.
6. KHAZEENY-I-NOOR:
This is a compilation of Urdu poetry of popular Urdu poet
the late Noor-u-Zaman Noor Sidiqi, my mentor. The year of publication is 2005
and number of pages is 355.
7. RAAZ-O-NIYAZ:
This is a collection of Urdu poetry of the late Mohd
Shafi Balam Bhaderwahi who had died about 25 years before its publication in
2006. The number of pages is 96.
8. SANGLAAB:
This is a collection of Kashmiri poetry of master Jalal-ud-Din
Taskeen Bhadanvi (Thathrivi), It was initially printed in 2012 on 324 pages.
9. ANJUMAN:
This literary Urdu journal brought out by me as
honorary Chief Editor of Shobay-i-Adab
Anjuman Islamia Kishtwar. Eight issues of this popular journal have been
published which contain more than 2000 pages of literary works of 1st
class urdu writers and myself.
10. NOORANE (Audio CD):
This audio CD of my Kashmiri Hamd, Naats and Marsiyas
was released in 2012. These were sung by
State Awardee Smt. Deepali Wattal, a popular singer of our state.
11. KULIYAT-i-RASA JAVIDANI:
As is evident from the name, this is a collection of
Urdu and Kashmiri poetry of the Late Rasa Javedani. It contains 335 pages and
preserves all compositions of this towering and popular poet of the J&K
state. This book was published in 2011 by the Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary
Society, Jammu.
12. DAG DAG DIL:
This is a collection of Kashmiri poetry of Talib
Hussain Rind Bhaderwahi. It was published in 2004 on 108 pages by the Koshur
Markazi Adabi Forum Jammu.
13. KULIYAT-E-QADIR BERWARI:
This is a collection of Kashmiri poetry of Khwaja
Ghulam Qadir Batt alias Qadir Berwari, a revered senior Kashmiri poet of Chenab
Valley. This work has been published in 2017 and and contains 141 poetic
compositions and consists of 234 pages.
