DC Kishtwar Reviews Power Scenario in the district with JPDCL officials
Kishtwar, May 30: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), chaired a meeting with JPDCL officials to review the district's power supply situation.
Key issues discussed included load management, power line maintenance, and ongoing projects to upgrade the power supply network.
The DC expressed concern over the slow pace of works under the RDSS scheme and directed executing agencies to double their efforts. Regarding smart metering, he directed the executing agencies to constitute 10 teams to meet the target within two months and ensure that installed smart meters are functional.
The DC emphasized the importance of cracking down on electricity theft and directed enforcement agencies to disconnect power supply to consumers refusing to install smart meters.
The XEN JPDCL informed that the supply of transformers for the augmentation of the Katersmena Grid from 2 x 20 MVA to 70 MVA would be completed by June 2025, with dispatch expected in July 2025.
The DC fixed a timeline for installation and commissioning of the transformers by August 2025.
The DC assured full support from the district administration to improve the power infrastructure and stressed the need for coordination between JPDCL and other departments.
