Kishtwar, September 20:

As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv 2025 celebrations and under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), a series of impactful activities and awareness programs were organized across District Kishtwar today, focusing on environmental conservation, health, nutrition, and community welfare.

The Municipal Council Kishtwar, as part of Sewa Parv, conducted a plantation drive at the MRF (Material Recovery Facility) site in Khangwari under the theme Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, Ek Ped Desh Ke Naam.

Additionally, a Swachhata Rally was also organized by the Municipal Council Kishtwar in the main market area of Kishtwar town with enthusiastic involvement from sanitation staff and Swachhata Executives.

The rally emphasized cleanliness, scientific waste segregation, and discouraging single-use plastic, while motivating citizens to contribute towards a cleaner, greener, and healthier society.

The BMO Office Chatroo organized a health camp and voluntary blood donation drive at PHC Chatroo, drawing active participation from the local community.

At GHS Pathernaki, a painting competition on ‘Clean India & Environment’ was held alongside an awareness session on women’s health and hygiene.

The Forest Department also carried out a plantation drive under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative at Government PS Doori and at other locations across the District.

The ICDS Department organized a range of activities, including a recipe demonstration on nutritious meals, a ‘Healthy Child’ competition, and experience-sharing sessions between mothers of healthy children and mothers of malnourished children. Parents of healthy children were also acknowledged for their positive practices.

Similar activities were conducted across the Sub-Divisions, Tehsils, and Blocks by the Health, RDD, ICDS, Forest, Education and  Social Welfare departments, ensuring widespread community engagement and awareness generation.
