Meeting Convened to Finalise Yatra Arrangements
Sarthal Mata Yatra 2026: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), today presided over a meeting with the Heads of Departments (HoDs) of various line departments and representatives of religious organisations to review and finalise the necessary arrangements for the upcoming Shri Sarthal Devi Ji Yatra 2026.

During the meeting, the Shri Sarthal Devi Ji Management Council informed the chair that the annual Sarthal Devi Ji Yatra, dedicated to Shri Ashtadashbhuja Mata Sarthal Devi Ji, will be held from July 21 to 23, 2026.
The Shobha Yatra will commence from Gauri Shankar Mandir, Sarkoot, towards Shri Sarthal Devi Ji Temple at around 2:00 PM on July 21, 2026, after the conclusion of the Hawan (Religious Ceremony) and Puran Aahuti (offering).
Emphasising the importance of timely preparations, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned line departments to complete all necessary arrangements well in advance to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the Yatra.
Key Directions Issued by the DC
- Police Department: Foolproof security from Gauri Shankar Mandir to Sarthal Mata Bhawan along the entire Yatra route on all three days
- Concerned Departments: Uninterrupted drinking water supply and deployment of water tankers
- Electricity: Uninterrupted supply and repair/installation of lights at Shri Sarthal Mata Bhawan and Gauri Shankar Temple, Sarkoot
- Health: Establishment of a medical camp, deployment of an ambulance with medical staff and essential medicines
- Fire Services: Positioning of fire tenders for emergency response
- ARTO Kishtwar: Deployment of required number of verified and technically fit vehicles for to-and-fro movement of pilgrims, July 21–23
- ARTO & DTI Kishtwar: Proper traffic diversion on the main Kishtwar road on all days of the Yatra
- ExEn PWD (R&B) Kishtwar: Necessary repair and maintenance of the road from Hasti to Sarthal before commencement of the Yatra
- RDD Kishtwar: Cleanliness and sanitation in and around Sarthal Devi Ji Temple; installation of adequate dustbins at Sarthal Devi Ji Bhawan on or before July 21; strict enforcement of the ban on polythene bags
- Inspection Committee (Tehsildar Kishtwar, Dy. SP HQ, DFSO, Asst. Controller Legal Metrology): Intensive market inspections to prevent black marketing and overcharging; ensure availability of quality essential commodities
DC Appeals to Pilgrims and Residents
Appealing to the local residents and pilgrims, the Deputy Commissioner urged everyone to maintain the religious sanctity and environmental serenity of the region by strictly following the government's guidelines, especially by avoiding the use of plastic during the Yatra.
Sarthal Devi Ji Management Council Raises Issues
The Members of the Shri Sarthal Devi Ji Management Council also raised issues to which the DC gave a patient hearing, issued directions on the spot, and assured every possible support from the District Administration.
The District Administration has assured all possible support for a safe, smooth, and spiritually enriching Shri Sarthal Devi Ji Yatra 2026. Devotees are urged to cooperate with security arrangements and follow eco-friendly guidelines during the three-day pilgrimage.
