DC Kishtwar Reviews Preparedness for Celebration of Six Years of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in the District

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), today chaired a meeting to review the preparedness for the upcoming celebration of six years of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) in the district and to deliberate upon a comprehensive strategy for ensuring maximum public participation and effective implementation of the campaign.
During the meeting, District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Kishtwar, Sh. Tariq Parveaz Qazi (JKAS), delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation, apprising the participants about the objectives of the upcoming celebration of Six Years of NMBA, proposed activities and the roadmap for the district-level celebrations.
The DSWO informed the meeting that the dates for the National-level Event celebration are yet to be notified. He stated that the schedule would be communicated separately to all concerned as and when it is officially notified.
It was further informed that the main District-level event where live telecast of the National Level Event celebration will be organized is at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, New DC Office, Kishtwar.
The same virtual live telecast will be organised in every government office, educational institution, health institution, Anganwadi Centre and other venues across the District.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the preparedness for the proposed District Level Mega Event and directed all concerned departments to ensure effective coordination, meticulous arrangements and maximum participation.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of preparing a comprehensive District Action Plan and Calendar of Activities with the active involvement of all line departments, including Rural Development Department (RDD), Education, Health, ICDS, Motor Vehicle Department (MVD), Revenue, Police, CRPF and other concerned departments.
The plan will encompass awareness, sensitization, community mobilization and outreach programmes across the district.
He directed all line departments to formulate their respective activities in coordination with the designated Nodal Officers, whose roles and responsibilities will be notified in due course, so as to ensure coordinated implementation of the campaign and its reach to every section of society.
The DC laid special emphasis on the active involvement of youth, spiritual, religious and community-based organizations, including Sanatan Dharma Sabha Kishtwar, Majlis-e-Shoura Committee and other religious organizations, besides Beopar Mandal, drivers, transporters and other community stakeholders.
He stressed that the participation of these stakeholders would be instrumental in taking the message of a drug-free society to the grassroots level.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the celebration should not remain confined to a single event but should serve as an opportunity to further intensify sustained efforts against substance abuse, create greater awareness about its harmful effects and strengthen the collective resolve towards building a drug-free Kishtwar.
He called for active and coordinated participation of all stakeholders.
The DC further directed that similar awareness and sensitization programmes be organized at the Sub-Division, Tehsil and Block levels, covering all Government and private educational institutions, Anganwadi Centres, health institutions and Government offices and others.
The concerned SDMs were directed to monitor the implementation of activities at the Sub-Divisional level and ensure effective coordination among all departments and stakeholders.
The concerned officers were directed to ensure proper planning, timely mobilization, effective inter-departmental coordination, documentation and reporting of all activities undertaken under the campaign.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kishtwar, Sh. Pawan Kotwal (JKAS), PO ICDS Kishtwar Sh. Rishi Kumar Sharma, CPO/DSEO Kishtwar, Sh. Suresh Kumar Sharma, EO Municipal Council Kishtwar, Sh. Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, ARTO Kishtwar, Sh. Tasleem Wani, Dy. SP Hqr, Dr. Ishan Gupta, Principal GDC Kishtwar, Sh. Lekh Raj Badyal, AD Planning RDD Kishtwar Sh. Ashraf Wani besides other officers, representatives from GDC Chatroo, GDC Paddar and concerned staff.
