As a prelude to the Dharti Abha Janjatiya Gramin Utkarsh Abhiyan, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), convened a comprehensive meeting to review the camp calendar and arrangements for the upcoming IEC campaign aimed at holistic tribal development.

The Abhiyan is scheduled to be held from June 15 to June 30, 2025, across 19 tribal villages of the district. It will witness active participation and coordinated implementation of welfare schemes by 17 Government Departments to ensure saturation of centrally sponsored schemes for the tribal population.

The DC highlighted that the campaign will address a wide spectrum of developmental needs including Infrastructure Development,Construction of pucca houses under PMAY-Gramin, water connectivity through Jal Jeevan Mission, road development under PMGSY, and household electrification through RDSS.


Deployment of mobile medical units, distribution of Ayushman Bharat cards, establishment of Anganwadi Centres, and provision of AYUSH medicines. Construction of hostels under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, launch of various skill development programs, and promotion of digital literacy, Distribution of LPG connections, extension of benefits under PM-KISAN, support for livestock and fisheries development, and promotion of financial inclusion schemes.

Additionally, the DC reviewed arrangements for key schemes to be implemented in the camps, including Aadhaar enrollment and updation, issuance of PMJAY cards, HADP, caste certificates, domicile certificates, and others.

Special emphasis was laid on ensuring the availability of basic amenities at all camp venues, including clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, and the use of tribal influencers to raise awareness in local languages such as Gojri and Urdu.

To ensure maximum reach for Tribal participation, the DC instructed all departments to intensify Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) efforts through vans, posters, newspaper outreach, and social media engagement at the sub-division, tehsil, and block levels.

DC Kishtwar has appealed to the tribal community to actively participate in these camps and avail the benefits of the numerous welfare schemes aimed at uplifting their socio-economic status.

The meeting was attended by PO ICDS Kishtwar Rishi Kumar Sharma, ACR Kishtwar Idrees lone, CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali,DSWO Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed, DIO Kishtwar Dr Kuldeep Kumar,AD FCS&CA/Employment Shafqat Ali Keen,all Tehsildars,all BDOs besides other Senior Officers.
