Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS) chaired a comprehensive review meeting to evaluate the implementation of Model Panchayats in the district. 

The initiative, spearheaded by the DC, aims to saturate 140 key developmental indicators in 13 identified Model Panchayats of District Kishtwar.

The goal is to use these Model Panchayats as a framework to replicate the developmental model across all 136 Panchayats in Kishtwar.


A detailed presentation of key indicators was given by ACD Kishtwar during the meeting.
The meeting included a detailed panchayat-wise review and specific directions were issued to ensure the effective and timely implementation of various developmental activities.


The DC also urged the Rural Development Department (RDD) field functionaries to enhance awareness at the grassroots level to facilitate better implementation. Besides BDOs were directed to construct Anganwari Centres and Panchayat  Ghars in left out Panchayats among 13 Model Panchayats. 


For establishment of Panchayat learning centre in Project affected villages, BDOs were directed to identify land and submit the estimates so that funds shall be made available out of CSR of HEPP.

All key indicators including Self-help groups, Ladli Beti Schmes, Plantation drives, Renovation of traditional water bodies, Geotagging of water bodies, Intensive afforestation, PMAY-G, Solarization under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Health and Development Program (HADP), Fisheries, Accidental claims, Nasha Mukt Abhiyan camps and Aadhaar seeding, scholarships, Handicrafts, Artisians, Social Security schemes and Financial Literacy were reviewed during the meeting. 

DC directed to achieve the saturation of all key indicators, with efforts directed toward closing any existing gaps in developmental targets. He emphasized the officers to make the panchayats free from polythene and drugs.

The DC emphasized the importance of conducting regular visits by district and sectoral officers, along with field functionaries, to the Model Panchayats to ensure timely execution of the developmental plans. 

ACD Kishtwar was directed to furnish the list of District Officers who have not visited the Model Panchayats.

He highlighted the need for collaboration, innovation and collective effort to accelerate progress, ensuring that these Model Panchayats serve as benchmarks for the entire district. Besides he laid emphasis on launching of intensive awareness campaign particularly among women, school going children's and Youth in Model Panchayats.
The meeting was attended by senior officers including PO ICDS Rishi Kumar Sharma, ACD Kishtwar Kaiser Bhawani; CPO Shahnawaz Bali, ACR Idrees Lone, BDOs, CDPOs and other key Officers and officials from various sectors.
